Janis is an award-winning creative executive with 25 years of conceptual and visual design experience as well as extensive expertise leading both client service and product development organizations. She now serves as Chief Creative Officer of There and oversees all Design, Production, Marketing, and Business Development groups.

Before joining There in 2009, she was at Reactrix Systems, where she managed their User Experience, Creative, and Marketing departments. Prior to that, she made her first contribution to There, spending three years as Vice President of Creative. And before that, she was Chief Creative Officer at Organic, a leading digital advertising and marketing firm, where she was responsible for strategic direction across nine international offices.

Prior to Organic, Janis founded an interactive design company, was the Creative Director at an ITV start-up, and began her career as an Art Director at ad agencies in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Janis speaks and judges at design and new media conferences. She particularly enjoys the occasional lecture in new media design classes where she gets to learn from the next generation of inventors. She has appeared on CNET and TechTV, and in trade publications that include AdAge, Adweek, Mediaweek, and Communication Arts.
