Event Host

We are seeking dynamic, energetic, organized, self-motivated and conscientious individuals, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to help welcome and provide a meaningful initial experience for visitors and new members to There. These individuals will also be responsible for supporting several initial experience functions and programs. Must be very enthusiastic and familiar with the There service, as well as the massively multiplayer online genre.

These are temporary, entry-level positions, and will be paid an hourly wage. The position requires 30-hours per week for a term of 6-months. As temporary employees, the Event Hosts will not be eligible to participate in the company’s benefit programs. Event Hosts will report to the Community Manager.

Responsibilities:

An Event Host is a member of the community team and manages multiple in-world activities within an online environment for/with our community members.

The Event Host will have responsibilities on several levels. This individual helps to plan, manage, evaluate and run specific live events hosted by There. Specific responsibilities include the following:

Planning:

	Collaborates with Community team to develop new ideas and schedule of events.

	Schedules all events assigned to him/her.

	Creates Event Plan for each assigned event.

	Engages member helpers with events.

	Arranges all in-world support and configuration for the assigned event (equipment, prizes, venue, etc.).

	Attends weekly (on-line) planning meeting.

Event Hosting:

	Acts as real-time host of assigned events, managing invitations, event schedule and prizing.

	Manages member interaction within assigned events.

	Escalates technical problems to Customer Service as they occur.

	Directs the execution of the event (combination Director, MC and Stage Manager).

Reporting/Data Collection:

	Creates detailed After Event Review for each assigned event.

	Collects and collates screenshots, logs, and other event-specific data.

Qualifications:

The following prior experience and skills are essential for a successful Event Host in There:

	Coordination and scheduling experience.

	Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel), and Internet tools (e.g. Internet Explorer, instant messaging and chat).

	Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

	Precise and detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills.

	Strong communication and relationship building skills.

	Good ability to understand and take direction.

	A high energy level: sets an exemplary pace for others to emulate.

	Ability to be flexible and solve problems as they arise.

	Must be very enthusiastic and familiar with the There service, as well as the massively multiplayer online genre.
