Marketing Assistant

Makena Technologies is an exciting new entertainment and communications company focused on online interaction. We are known for our groundbreaking consumer service called "There" (www.there.com) and our latest offering launched in partnership with MTV called "vMTV" (www.vmtv.com/). Both of these consumer services are destinations where members can meet people, hang out with friends, play games, explore, have fun and even help build their own world - all in a spectacular 3D graphical environment.

The Makena Technologies virtual world platform offers a rich array of community-oriented activities, many of which have been initiated by the members. The worlds themselves are intriguing mini societies; they even have their own internal economy in which many members have created their own enterprises. Recent advancements in our unique technology platform will allow for even more innovative ways for members to interact with others, to experience broadband content, and to create their own spaces. Given our strong position, the explosion of online interaction in the marketplace and abundant opportunities for enhancing our 3D world, our company is positioned to accelerate its growth.

Position Summary:
The Marketing Assistant will support the production, scheduling and implementation of a variety of consumer marketing and merchandising programs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience writing copy and producing promotional content for an online audience. The Marketing Assistant will create and maintain program schedules and content for a variety of online marketing channels, including web sites, blogs and email marketing initiatives. The candidate should be an organized individual with excellent writing skills and strong communication skills. They should also be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and have a proven ability to deliver professional quality work on a tight deadline.

Responsibilities include:

	Assist in the development of marketing programs that meet strategic marketing objectives.

	Develop and maintain marketing program schedule

	Write and edit strong, consistent, on-brand copy

	Produce lightweight graphic design assets to enhance promotional content

	Proactively coordinate across departments (business development, community, engineering and operations) to ensure on-time delivery of marketing projects.

	Write, coordinate and maintain regular postings to marketing sites

	Actively engage with community team to stay apprised of current events for potential integration into marketing programs

	Help produce, update, test and track email marketing initiatives

	Maintain up-to-date files of media assets

	Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, polls and surveys

Requirements:

	B.A. or B.S. degree from accredited institution.

	Excellent copywriting skills (writing samples required)

	1 to 3 years of online product or project management experience in an interactive marketing organization

	Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

	Solid understanding of internet and related technologies

	Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented

	Ability to prioritize projects and work independently

	Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-intensive environment

	Must be a creative thinker who can take an idea from conception to completion
